bad car day

This just isn't a good day for cars. Dianna was heading home on the 710 when some unidentified object slammed into her windshield and cracked it. Not cheap to fix. And what exactly can one do about being hit like that? There's no good way of telling which vehicle it came from and maintaining control becomes a bigger issue. I picked Dianna up later this evening and on the way back to my place we stopped at Trader Joes. As we finished up shopping a manager paged the owner of a red Ford Escort (mine looks red at night). We were handed a license place number scrawled on the back of a reciept. Apparently another customer witness a car hit mine and drive away. Sure enough I found a dent on rear-left corner of my car and one of my lights doesn't work. We called the police but they couldn't locate the plate number. The officer said it was pretty rare for a hit and run report to track down perpetrator. Most of the time, he explained, it's an elderly person who didn't even realize that they hit another car. This is the second hit and run on my car. I guess it's a good thing that the appearance doesn't matter very much to me.

catching up

Rather than repine over how little time I've had or denounce my busy schedule I give you this explanation: I was partly brainwashed by aliens working for the CIA who eliminated my memory of this blog until I fought their leader in a secret underground base, forcing them to restore my mind and reimburse me for travel costs.

I have several topics to blog about, all of tremendous importance. Rather than cram everything into a huge blog I'll give a brief overview in this entry and follow it up with various details. Since my last blog I got back together with Dianna and went camping with her at Jackson Lake in the Angeles National Forest. Not much of a lake, but the campground is really nice and is run by on old guy called Darrell who likes to stand around and chat with his customers. Dianna took a nasty fall off a rope swing but lived to tell the tale. Winston is doing fine and has now been joined by a second rabbit called Attila. I went on a Grunion run, briefly lost my wallet, and found out how diffifult it is to search for a flat black object on a poorly lit beach during new moon with no flashlight. I went to Catalina with Dianna's family to snorkeling and see sea lions. I have many bite marks from fish trying to eat my fingers. I was greatly honored by Shane asking me to be one of his groomsmen. My brother is moving out here from Ohio. I'll be driving across the country with him. Adding to the list of people leaving, Ryan Bacon is considering joining his sister up north. Jenny going to New Jersey, John Lin is going to Michigan, Stephen is going to Boston.

More updates soon.
